In celebration of the start of the ACC Basketball Tournament in Atlanta, a leading group of University of North Carolina grads are holding a tip-off celebration at kai – the medical spa in Sandy Springs, GA. Kai Managing Partner, Grace Choung says, “It’s quite an honor. North Carolina alumni share a special bond and I am excited to bring such a distinguished group together, in part to cheer on the Tar Heels and of course because higher education is so key to the success of our country.”
“I am proud of my association with the University of North Carolina and I am very excited about our alumni association in Atlanta.” said Grace Choung. “As a graduate of UNC, I am always looking for ways to give back to my alma mater and to my local community.
The night was a fun filled event with keynote speech from Kevin Maynor, Chair of Carolina Alumni Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity at UNC. Alge Crumpler ‘00 and Vonnie Holliday ‘97 expressed their positive the role that UNC had in their careers. Each of them “gave back” their football scholarships to help the next generation of Tar Heel athletes. “I will always remember my time spent at the University of North Carolina, how valuable my education is, and the friendships developed.” said Alge. “Everyone knows Michael Jordan graduated from UNC, however, Carolina has produced many other scholar athletes”, added Vonnie.
The alumni who attended where treated to gourmet appetizers from bite catering, cocktail and live music by shreeps. Prizes included boutique row gift cards, Fraxel face treatment and Thermage tightening treatment.
The night was a great success and the alumnae in attendance were impressed with the event, kai, and the supp0rt from the University. “I cannot wait to host another event, meet more alumni in the Atlanta area, and watch my Tar Heels win the tournament.” said Grace.
